KEY TO THE DATA FORMAT

for Italian production Disney Stories

The data format is as follows:

Code - (day/month/year)
Title
plot author/script writer/artist/inker
number of pages/short synopsis (in Italian!)/appearing characters
[note: some notes (in Italian!)]
[colore: the name of the colorist, in special-colored stories]
[codice: the code printed in the "splash panel", if different from the "correct" one]
[ristampe: reprints (in Italy)]
[commento: a short (technical) comment - in Italian !]

The code of the story tries to be as much as possible similar to the code actually printed on the splash panel. It is usually
<issue code>-<letter/digit(s)>
where the <issue code> is the standard Italian comic book code and the subsequent letter-or-digit(s) uniquely identify the story among those printed in that issue.

In the third line (plot author/script writer/artist/inker) the names of the plot author and of the inker are often missing; thus, the third line often looks like

/script writer/artist/

When an author's name is uncertain, it is followed by (?).

The Italian notes have the following meanings:

macchina-del-tempo = a time-travel series starring Mickey Mouse and Goofy
bivi = a story where the reader decides the flow of events
storia-gioco = a collection of puzzles tied by a story (sort of)

The reprints use the standard Italian comic book code.

Every Italian comic book has a code that looks like

I <some letters> <issue number>

where <some letters> are an abbreviation for the comic book's title and <issue number> is simply the issue number except for the "Albi d'oro" (for which issue nnn of the year 19yy gets the number yynnn, always a 5-digit integer: so issue number 8 of 1953 is identified as I AO 53008).

The comic books' titles are abbreviated as follows:

AO = Albo d'oro
AR = Albi della Rosa - Albi di Topolino (weekly)
AT = Almanacco Topolino (1957-1984)
ATM = Albi di Topolino (new series, monthly)
