abbrev

What should the field look like?
Syntax: fixed position, or [abbrev:xxx]
 
What does the field contain?
An abbreviation for the person, character, or subseries.

For persons we use 2 or 3 letters, derived from their first name and surname.

This field can be empty; only often-used items have an abbreviation.

Syntax: [altnames:xxx,xxx]
 
What does the field contain?
Alternative names of a person, character, or subseries. These names can for instance be wrongly spelled.

None of the names should occur as a name or pseudonym of any other person/character/subseries.

What should the field look like?
Syntax: [fsbname:xxx]
 
What does the field contain?
An extra name for a person or character, as used in the FSB. This is used if the FSB uses a non-unique name (like "Rubino") or a weird name (like "PLdV" or "QQQ").

This field is currently not used for subseries.

What does the field contain?
The first name plus surname of a person, or the name of a character/subseries.

If the item does not have an abbreviation, the normal name must be used in all DBI and DBS input files.
The same holds for the key in the translation files.
